GET INVOLVED

There are many initiatives led by dedicated individuals and organizations focused on broad criminal justice issues such as bail reform that have the potential to mitigate the impact of inaccurate roadside drug tests. We welcome and support these initiatives. At the same time, we recognize that these initiatives have widespread policy implications and may take years to progress. In contrast, roadside drug test policy is a relatively simple issue that is within the power of law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, policy and lawmakers to change. To find out how, please read our Policy Briefing.

Watch here to see how Randy Travis and the Fox 5 Atlanta I-Team successfully worked with local law enforcement to reform roadside drug test practices in Georgia.

Field drug tests wrongfully implicate tens of thousands of Americans every year, study finds

A new first of its kind study reveals that tens of thousands of Americans every year are wrongly implicated by field drug tests. The study found that almost 30,000 arrests stem from a false positive. NBC News’ Blayne Alexander spoke to one couple impacted by the tests.

If you have insights or contacts that can help us inform law enforcement agencies or District Attorney’s offices on the use of roadside drug tests, or if you have other input that can be of help to us, we want to hear from you. If you are a law enforcement official, prosecutor, legislator or policy maker interested in bringing about change in this area, we especially want to hear from you.
